Wir sind überzeugt, dass Kultur eine Gesellschaft kennzeichnet und prägt, weit hinaus über das reine Gestalten von Kunst. Seit Beginn des Projektes war deshalb klar, dass gepard14 ein Raum zur künstlerischen Auseinandersetzung und Ort der Begegnung ist. Kunst bekommt so eine soziale Komponente, die Identität und Lebenssinn schafft.
Das Projekt bildet eine einmalige Ergänzung zum bestehenden Kultur- und Vergnügungsangebot in der Gemeinde und hat durch die Zugehörigkeit zur Berner Galerien- und Kunstszene, eine überregionale Ausstrahlung .
Seit Januar 2008 stellt gepard14 an der Schützenstrasse 14 im Liebefeld/Köniz einen hellen, hohen, 50m2 grossen Raum mit Eingangsbereich, Kleinküche und WC zur Verfügung. Damit wird professionellen Künstler*Innen aus den Bereichen bildende Kunst, Fotografie, Literatur, Musik, Tanz und Theater ect. die Möglichkeit gegeben, sich vertieft mit der Thematik Kunst und Kultur auseinander zu setzen. Das eigene Schaffen kann über Ausstellungen, Installationen, Performances, Lesungen, Theater, Konzerte etc. einer breiteren Öffentlichkeit präsentiert und im offenen Dialog zugänglich gemacht werden. Es kann sich dabei sowohl um Einzel- wie Gruppenarbeiten handeln. Dem konventionellen und etablierten System der Kunstproduktion und Kunstvermittlung werden so neue Perspektiven gegenüber gestellt. In der Vielfalt der Ansätze wird Neues ausgelotet, es werden Entwicklungen und Experimente angeregt. Zielgruppe von gepard14 sind junge Talente, deren Arbeiten wir bereits kennen, neu entdecken und auf ihre Qualität und ihren Grad an Innovation hin prüfen. Sie haben bereits gewisse Erfahrungen mit Ausstellungen, eventuell bereits Preise und Stipendien gewonnen, gehören aber noch nicht zur etablierten Kunstszene.

We are convinced that culture distinguishes and impregnates a society, far beyond the sole elaboration of art works. From the project’s beginning, it was clear that gepard14 would be a space for artistic debate and an interaction area. Art acquires thus a social component that provides identification and meaning.The project provides a unique complement to the community’s existing cultural and entertainment range. Through its integration to Berne’s gallery and art scene, it radiates well over regional limits. Since January 2008, gepard14 offers a bright, high-ceilinged, 100m2 room with entrance hall, small kitchen and toilet at the Schützenstrasse 14 in Liebefeld/Berne. Professional artists in the fields of the fine arts, photography,literature, music, dance and theatre thus receive the opportunity for a profound reflection on the thematic of art and culture.Through exhibitions, installations, performances, lectures, theatre, concerts, etc., individual artistic invention reaches a wide public and joins an open dialog. The creations are individual or collective.New perspectives thus confront the conventional and established art production and diffusion system. Innovation is fathomed in the plurality of approaches, sparking off development and experimentation.gepard14’s inaugural event in January 2008 quickly triggered an acknowledging echo in the media and art circles. The reason was not only the presentation’s artistic level and quality, but also the fascinating and innovative concept backing gepard14, to let art creators work in a guest-studio away from curatorial constraint.The target group consists of young talents whose work we already know or newly discover, evaluating it for its quality and innovative degree. They have some previous exhibition experience and perhaps already won awards or subsidies, albeit not belonging to the established art scene.

Nous sommes convaincus que la culture distingue une société et l’imprègne, bien au-delà de la simple élaboration d’oeuvres d’art. Dès le début du projet, il était donc clair que gepard14 serait un lieu de débat artistique et un espace interactif. L’expression créatrice acquiert ainsi un élément social, générateur d’identification et de signification. Le projet constitue un complément unique à l’éventail culturel et récréationnel existant dans l’agglomération. Son appartenance à la scène bernoise des arts et des galeries lui confère un rayonnement supra régional.Depuis janvier 2008, gepard14 met à disposition à la Schützenstrasse 14, Liebefeld/Berne une salle de 100 m2, haute et bien éclairée, comprenant également une entrée, un wc et un espace cuisine. Les artistes professionnels des domaines des arts plastiques, de la photographie, la littérature, la musique, la danse et du théâtre obtiennent ainsi l’opportunité d’une réflexion approfondie sur la thématique des arts et de la culture.Par le biais d’expositions, installations, performances, lectures, théâtre, concerts, etc., le cheminement artistique personnel se manifeste à un vaste public et participe au dialogue ouvert. Les œuvres sont individuelles ou collectives.De nouvelles perspectives interrogent ainsi le système conventionnel et enraciné de la production et de la diffusion artistique. La pluralité des approches sonde l’amplitude de l’innovation et exhorte l’évolution et l’expérimentation.L’événement inaugural de gepard14 en janvier 2008 suscita rapidement l’écho des medias et cercles artistiques. La raison s’en trouve tout autant dans le niveau artistique et la qualité de la présentation, que dans le concept aussi innovateur que fascinant de gepard14, d’inciter le déploiement du créateur dans un atelier d’artiste en résidence à l’abri des contraintes curatoriales.
gepard14 interpelle les jeunes talents dont nous connaissons déjà le parcours ou que nous découvrons et que nous évaluons à l’aune de la qualité et du degré innovateur. Ils ont quelque expérience des expositions, ont éventuellement déjà remporté des prix et bourses, sans déjà appartenir néanmoins à l’environnement artistique établi.
